Introducing the students to the world of Business Transformation through 6 campus days – including lectures, workshops and coaching.
About the module
As digital technologies continue to disrupt every element of our lives, the effect that they continue to have on the business world is massive. The birth and death rate of companies increases as old, established, slow corporations are ousted by young, agile startups. In this highly connected, culturally fragmented, ever changing world, what do businesses need to do to survive and thrive? What do modern businesses look like? What should they look like in the future?
During this module, the students explore the interplay between businesses and their customers, learn how to manage clients effectively, and demonstrate the value of their product or service to them. In working with clients they will focus on the idea of mutual value creation. How can they, together, produce something that brings value to them, the client, and the end user? By the end they should be highly competent in demonstrating the business case for their specific discipline, and confident that they can support the growth of innovative and ethical business models.
The aim of this project is to understand Business Transformation, specifically in the context of digital. There is a great deal of hype these days around “digital transformation” (and equally: “Business Transformation”). The word is often used, especially by consultancies, but rarely defined. For this project we would like to put a stick in the ground and define it as: organisational change driven by digital technologies and digital behaviours, creating a pragmatic definition that allows us to think about impact and performance.
